Cogef Trading Lda

Cogef Trading Lda, is the first company of Cogef Group, it is located in Maputo and was incorporated in 2004 with the aim of bringing consumer goods that were unavailable to the market, providing diversity as well as quality required at the time. At that stage most of the supply was mainly provided by trading – pure Trade – finding the supply in the international market in order to meet the demand in Mozambique. Because the supply in the market was so scarce it made Cogef Trading a successful venture.

At that point, there were no local alternatives, as industry was inactive and investing in industry demanded a great effort, while the arising opportunity was for immediate supply.

Even through the industry in Mozambique is now active, there is still a considerable market for trading, as some areas of the industry remain dormant and others do not meet the demand neither in quality nor in quantity.

Cogef Trading’s objective is to identify the market needs and provide the market, to bridge the gap.

Team

The team consists of approximately 400 employees across the country, making it the largest as well as the oldest of the Group.

Accustomed to a daily hustle to get further and futher and server more and more people, this team contributes effectively to server the people in the remotest locations.
