Set-up in Mozambique in 2004 and currently with a countrywide presence, Group Cogef is a leading wholesaler and mass grocery retailer.
Cogef, the number one player in the cash & carry and retail market in the country, has therefore direct exposure to the fast-moving consumer goods sector in Mozambique.
The group has a strong management team at the Cogef level who has considerable existing experience and expertise within the Mozambican FMCG sector.
With 22 ‘Cash & Carry’ supermarkets, 130 retail-wholesale outlets, 4 manufacturing units and more than 2,500 employees COGEF today has shown resilience and tenacity across all segments of its business.

In 1993 the group has started its expansion policy, first in DRC and then into other African countries, including Mozambique where the Group's headquarter is currently based. The group has flourished into a global conglomerate. the Group is currently present in 8 African countries ranging from convenience stores to large scale manufacturing industries, including manufacturing, import/export trade, retail, and construction.
